Rishad Tobaccowala, marketing guru, speaks about new book at Chicago Advertising Federation event
Former Publicis Groupe Chief Growth Officer delivers personal insights to industry colleagues
(CHICAGO – March 5, 2020) – The Chicago Advertising Federation (CAF) will welcome Rishad Tobaccowala, former chief growth officer of Publicis Groupe, at its next Hot Seat event to speak about his new book, “Restoring the Soul of Business: Staying Human in the Age of Data.” The event is set to take place on March 9, from 5:15 to 7:15 p.m., at Edelman Chicago and will also feature Ad Age’s E.J. Schultz as the moderator.
A seasoned communications professional and marketing legend, Tobaccowala is a senior advisor at Publicis Groupe, where he also most recently served as the chief growth officer and chief strategist. He has extensive experience in all sub-disciplines of marketing, leading teams working on brand advertising, media, and database, direct, and interactive marketing. In recognition of the pioneering contributions made to the industry over his 37-year career, Tobaccowala was proudly honored by CAF with the Lifetime Achievement Silver Medal Award in 2013 and has also been named one of the top business leaders by Business Insider and one of five “Marketing Innovators” by TIME magazine.
In his new book, Tobaccowala underscores the importance of restoring the human element into organizations’ business practices in an ever-increasing digital era. “The book lays out why people follow and listen to other people and all these are emotional areas from integrity to empathy to vulnerability. It also illustrates how people should have more or less meetings but listen for voice, tone, and human things and not just the data that is being communicated,” he said.
